Wedding Fever

Well I have been MIA for a little while. Time flies by before you realize it. While I was away, I began having a little wedding fever! I'm not engaged yet but it doesn't hurt a girl to dream right!

I'm in love with lace wedding dresses!

Yeah that's for sure happening!
I'm also loving this. Instead of champagne, using glass coke bottles.

My wedding must have is hydrangea bouquets. I'm obsessed with hydrangeas!

That's all the wedding dreaming for today!
P.S. all these photos were via pinterest!

Dog Days of Spring

Happy first day of spring ya'll! I absolutely can't wait for the warmer weather, beautiful flowers, and days full of hiking and enjoying nature! It's a beautiful day in Kentucky but still to cold to spend time outside. So I thought I'd try out a craft I found on Decor and the Dog.

Originally I found this on pinterest.

I wasn't sure on how to make this and I'm not crafty enough to figure it out without a detailed tutorial. So I let the idea go, until the other day when I stumbled across Decor and The dog's tutorial!

Okay, so I'm not the best at sewing and I'm definitely still learning. So I wont be showing any of my messing "progress" pictures. But, here it is finished!

My babies were so excited, all except Cliff!

This is Rilee

This is Dura

And this handsome little man is Cliff.

Aren't they so cute with their little green bowties! To bad I didn't think of this for St. Patricks day!

Detox Bath

I love random wednesdays! I can talk about anything I want and then link up to Shanna's amazing blog Because Shanna Said So.  I've been super busy with work and haven't been able to post like I would like too, but I'm going to try to change that.

Today I was planning on trying my very first outfit post. However, I have yet to find the perfect place to take pictures. So I'll continue to work on that and hopefully have some outfit posts up soon.

So instead of an outfit post I will share with you, a detox bath that I tried last night.  I found this posted on pinterest and thought might as well give it a try.  So I headed to walmart to pick up some epsom salt.  This can be found in the pharmacy section.  I got a pretty good size bag for 88 cents. You'll also need baking soda if you don't already have that at home.

Now its bathtime! It is recommended that you set aside 40 minutes for soaking in the bath mixture.  I only soaked for 20 minutes during my bath.  So to do this right, you have to run your bath water as hot as you can stand it. Then you add 2 cups of the epsom salt, and 1 cup baking soda.  You can also add lavendar oil to help give you a relaxing feeling.  After you add all your ingredients, swish them around in the bathtub. Then soak for 20-40 minutes.

After I was finished with this bath, I didn't feel too great.  But I had also taken a benadryl shortly before which kicks my butt.  However today I feel great, no aches or pains, and my sinus troubles I was having is much better!

Strawberry doughnut cake

While browsing Pinterest I found this amazing cake recipe and thought I would give it a go! It's way to pretty to not want to try!

The recipe was in grams and after some googling I got everything converted to measurements I could understand.

Strawberry 'Doughnut' Bundt Cake
(Adapted from this recipe, makes one small bundt cake or 6 cupcakes)

1/3 cup softened butter
1/2 cup white sugar  sugar
1 eggs
1 tsp pure vanilla extract
1 1/2 cup self rising flour
1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
A pinch of salt
1/4 cup sour cream
1 cup  strawberries, hulled and pureed

For the strawberry jam icing:
1 cup powdered sugar,
4 tbsp butter
1/4 cup strawberry jam
A pinch of salt
Sprinkles, to decorate

Preheat oven to 320F and butter a bundt pan. Whisk strawberry puree in a medium bowl with sour cream and set aside. Beat butter and sugar in an electric mixer until creamy. Add eggs, then add vanilla extract. Meanwhile, mix flour and cinnamon into a bowl with a pinch of salt. With mixer on low speed, add half the flour mixture, then half the strawberry mixture. Repeat, then spoon mixture into cake pan. Smooth top, then bake until cake is golden and an inserted toothpick comes out clean  about 45-50 minutes. Cool in pan for about 10 minutes, then invert onto a rack and cool completely.

Place sifted icing sugar and butter in a mixing bowl and beat with an electric mixer until pale and fluffy. Add strawberry jam and salt and beat to combine. Use a spatula to ice the cake and top with sprinkles. Can be stored in an airtight container for a few days.

The sad thing about this was I was so proud at how pretty my cake turned out, and now that I look at my picture and compare it to this other bloggers picture I'm almost ashamed haha! I have got to work on my picture taking skills!

Philly cheesesteak stuffed bell peppers

As part of the 6 week Pinterest challenge, I decided to make these awesome bell peppers. Let me first say I'm not a stuffed bell pepper kind of person but I thought these looked to amazing not to try.

For this recipe, you need some bell peppers, I bought two because four halves would be plenty. You also need some roast beef, an onion, mushrooms and provolone cheese. I used deli roast beef and had them shred it for me to save me some time. I also used canned mushrooms to save some time cutting.

First thing you want to do is cut your peppers in half and removed the seeds. Also preheat oven to 400.

Next you want to sauté your onion and mushrooms. You want to saute this mixture until the onion is carmelized, this should take about 15-20 minutes. After you have your mixture sautéed, add your roast beef. Cook for about 5-10 until it has browned. Afterwards remove from heat.

Okay here comes the fun part, stuffing the pepper. First stuff a slice of provolone cheese into each pepper. Add the sautéed mixture until the peppers are nearly overflowing, then place another slice of provolone cheese over top of the mixture.
Place into preheated oven and cook for 15-20 minutes or until top is golden brown.

And there you have it. Ah-mazing stuffed bell peppers!
